St. Mary's Ryken Junior Brennan Hudson Honored for Volunteer Service with National Award
Brennan Hudson '18, student at St. Mary's Ryken, was honored for his exemplary volunteer service with a Certificate of Excellence from The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, granted by the program on behalf of the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation.
"Most of my volunteer work has been with Operation Gratitude, making paracord bracelets and conducting letter writing drives," said Brennan. "These items are placed in care packages and sent to the troops. Our Veterans and first responders do so much for us, and I want to let them know how much we appreciate them!"
"We are very proud of Brennan's dedication in support of military personnel and our veterans," said Mr. Rick Wood, SMR Principal. "At St. Mary's Ryken, we believe in the value of service and giving of oneself to help others. Brennan is an exceptional example of a student who gives of himself in many ways, and who works to support causes he believes in. He's a notable leader in our school community."
Presented annually by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards honors young people across America for outstanding volunteer service.
