Maryland Foreign Language Association Teacher of the Year Finalist

 

St. Mary's Ryken is proud to announce that 12-year veteran Spanish teacher, Mrs. Gloria Dempsey, was named the Maryland Foreign Language Association teacher of the year finalist!

Mrs. Dempsey was nominated for this prestigious award by her colleagues because she is a highly engaging with her students, innovative and is always trying to connect her students and the language by using real life situations. Mrs. Dempsey also finds unique ways to utilize technology in meaningful ways in the classroom. She's committed to her students and their language acquisition journey.

 

St. Mary’s Ryken Inducts 49 More Students into National Honors Society

 

On Friday, October 14th, St. Mary's Ryken inducted 49 new members to the Theodore Ryken Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) in a ceremony in the Romuald Hall auditorium. In addition to academic achievement (scholarship), members are selected to NHS based on leadership, service and character.
