St. Bernard Grandparents Mass
About 250 people attended the annual Grandparents Mass and Luncheon at Saint Bernard School on Thursday, April 12.
The event is an annual tradition currently in its tenth year at Saint Bernard. The occasion aims to connect the generations and celebrate grandparents and the special meaning they hold in our lives.
The Mass was celebrated by the Most Rev. Michael R. Cote, Bishop of Norwich. SBS senior Graham McCauley welcomed grandparents to the Mass.
“Grandparents are a family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers, and the keepers of traditions that linger on in cherished memory,” Graham said. “Grandparents are the family’s strong foundation. Their very special love sets them apart. Through happiness and sorrow, through their special love and caring, grandparents keep a family close at heart.”
Following Mass, students and their grandparents attended a catered luncheon in the gymnasium.
