Our Lady of Good Counsel Student Collects for Baby’s Bounty in MD
For babies, diapers are an absolute necessity. Unfortunately, for those born into disadvantaged families, diapers can also be a great expense that their parents simply cannot afford. With that in mind, Lauren French '18 has worked tirelessly to grow her annual diaper drive. Last year, she set up shop in front of Good Counsel's main office and spread the word about her efforts through every means at her disposal. By the end of the week, Lauren left with a mountain of diapers which she passed on to Baby's Bounty.
Baby's Bounty Montgomery County is a charity that provides safety, health, and wellness essentials to at-risk infants up to six months of age who are born into poverty, homelessness, abuse, neglect, and other disadvantaged situations. Lauren has been a wonderful advocate for the charity. This year, she not only raised 10,000 diapers for Baby's Bounty, but she also got Governor Larry Hogan to declare this Diaper Need Awareness Week in Maryland.
Lauren recently presented the proclamation to Baby's Bounty Executive Director Marissa Nickols. Our Lady of Good Counsel High School commends Lauren for her efforts to give every baby a happy, healthy start.
