Malden Catholic Students Partner with Boston College, Win Top Award at Model UN Conference

MC Partners with Boston College and the Weston Observatory on Educational Seismology Project

Seismograph

Malden Catholic recently unveiled the school's very own seismograph made possible through a partnership between Boston College, the Weston Observatory and Vincent Murphy, a 1946 graduate of MC whose own career in geophysics inspired him to generously contribute to the project.

A ribbon cutting ceremony took place on Monday, March 13th, formally debuting this exciting development for Malden Catholic. A team of teachers across STEM are already using data collected from a seismograph to monitor and interpret real-time seismic activity.  The curriculum is being supported by a trained educational seismologist who works alongside our teachers.
