February News from Lowell Catholic
Lowell Catholic Students traveled to Rhode Island's WARM center to lend a helping hand at Anita's Kitchen. The crew cleaned, prepared a meal, and served the residents and members of the community during their February Vacation.
Trip to London
The Lowell Catholic High School curriculum extended beyond the classroom and "across the pond" recently, as several students toured London and beyond.
Amidst February flurries, the group left LC and set out to see the sights of England's capital city. Interacting with historical locations, cultural traditions and uniquely English customs gave students invaluable firsthand experiences that supplement their History, Social Studies, and Language Arts and Literature textbooks.
Highlights of the tour included seeing the changing of the Royal Guard at Buckingham Palace, crossing the iconic Abbey Road for a photo op, and visiting landmarks like St. Paul's Cathedral, Big Ben, Parliament Square, Westminster Abbey, the London Eye, Wembley Stadium and the Thames River.
Elementary STEM Academics
LC's Brownie Troop, #62683 completed their STEM badge this past week by participating in several science experiments including, chemical experiments, a balloon tracking project and creating a geyser.
LC Elementary has also begun an after school Science club for 1st - 3rd graders and a Scratch Programming club for 4th through 8th graders. The 4th - 8th grade students will also be contributing to the school science fair on March 9th.
